Seth, no offense to you, but in another post you mentioned that you are 12 years old. Is that correct? How do your parents feel about all of these birds you are "offering" to take into your home? How do you plan to earn the money it takes for toys, vet bills, cages, food, etc? And how do your parents feel about you posting your email address all over the internet?
I'm just a bit concerned because it looks like you have a baby B&G coming, and you're posting about taking in unwanted 'toos, and then you're talking about getting a Palm 'too, a Hyacinth, or a Toucan. I'm worried that you might not have the time or resources to take care of these birds...and I wonder what your parents are thinking! Are they into birds too? -SB

Well thanks for the concern Seth. When I first started this thread I didn't feel I had the time. I was trying to convince myself it was time to live bird free to keep peace in my home. Actually I do want my birds, I love my birds or I wouldn't have had them for so long. And I have realized that in order to keep peace in my home and in my mind, getting rid of them would make it worse.
Actually I spend as much time with them as possible now! As soon as I get in the door I am greeted by the birds and my dog and they are so excited to see me. After hello's and kisses we head outside to have some play time and then back in the house for cuddles and petting. I have worked it out so Sunshine is on one knee and Joe bird is nesting in my hair or on my shoulders and Rocky dog is on the other side of me. In the mornings we have lots of time too before I go to work. They get fresh fruits and veggies and bread and we try to head outside for some morning play time and kisses. Perhaps I shouldn't have shared so much with all of you, and I am sure some of you think I am some nut case, maybe I am! But being able to share all of this has really helped me see the light, crazy or not. I will say this, if for some reason I feel that they are being ignored and unwanted or I can't give them the time they require, I will be the first to find them a better home. My husband isn't the bird loving person I would dream for, but since I have found my way we are all much happier and they are well cared for. The screaming has mellowed out alot, Sunshine has been much better when daddy's home alone with them, they did very well over this last holiday days off. We still have a ways to go, but it is a heck of a lot better than when I first posted. ![]() ![]() ![]()
