Try to provide a variety, starting at 1 inch, and going no smaller than .5 inches and not larger than 1.25 inches. Sitting on the same size perch all the time isn't good for their feet.

Try getting branches from a fruit tree that varies in size. It will exercise your birds feet. Make sure the tree hasnt been treated with pesticides.
