Whiteboy preening

Check out his legs! They were completely bare 7 months ago. They have funny feather "starts" on them now. Sexy! His wings are filling out. Pretty soon, I won't be able to have him outside free any more. We will loose a great convenience, but I feel like he will have his dignity and feel powerful and beautiful. My outdoor enclosure better be done before he can fly!

Thanks Holly. He really went to town preening after his water hose bath today. That wasn't all of it, by far.

Oh Glenda. I hope he isn't able yet! I love having him out in my yard and on my porch every day. I'll try to put him up and down and try to get him to glide down to see how well he can do it for a test. Lukey can fly now, so I have to hold my hand around her neck with one hand and feet in the other as I move her to and from her outdoor cage.

I really enjoyed watching Whiteboy's video preening. He is just one bundle of fluffiness. He sure looks happy and healthy.

Morena- I'm so weird that I have watched it over and over myself. There is something therapeutic about watching a bird preen. It is relaxing to me. I think they are all so beautiful doing regular every day things.

He is gorgeous! His feathers are soooo big compared to my little Cayman's. It amazes me how they can contort their bodies in order to reach almost every little spot. Thanks for sharing!

CforC- I LOVE the way his legs are coming along. Each day the feathers get longer. They start out as a little white dot on bare skin.
Sonya- He's big all over! You should feel the difference between him and what Cayman would feel like on your arm. You can't even hold Whiteboy on your finger. It has to be an arm, or at least a hand. He's cool.
