Arrow weird galah behaviour?

I went to have a chat with my galah wiht my mum, and she picked up on things i am used to.
he kept raiseing his foot and wing slightly and freezing, then he would put his foot enclosing his beak and sort of move his beak open shut open shut and ...sort of liek he was fake eating crossed with scratchign his beak...
mum was like " why is he doing that?" and im like....
" i think he raises his foot to defend his terrirtoy, but i dunno why he does that?"
cna anyone help me? is this normal?
He is in a huge cage all day, outside, and is situated right near my tiels. he has toys and gets fresh greens daily and fruit once a week or so, he gets branches to chew and dried fruits and stuff, so he is well looked after, my dogs even play with him, but he doesn't get much human interaction.
what is he trying to say?
ps. sorry about my typos!

He might be scratching that "yawn reflex" place right where their ear is. It makes them open their beaks! I scritch it for Whiteboy and he opens up every time. Whiteboy puts his claw over his beak like that too. I can't wait to get a picture or a video of it. Sometimes he just leaves it there for a long time like he's the thinker. I've never seen the foot and wing raise with the freeze. Aren't Toos funny?
