Welcome Kim! I will be very interested to learn more about cockatoos, as most of the species originate from Australia. I am getting more interested in Major Mitchells espeically. I hope you enjoy being part of the team!

Talking Thank you!

What a friendly bunch!!

I appreciate the warm welcome and look forward to "meeting" everyone. I see that some of you have been on toolady.com as well, and know me from my work over there. I'm going to be involved in both boards so I can reach out to as many folks as possible. I take my role as a behavior consultant very seriously and think it's great that I can be involved in helping out here.

Thanks, talk to you soon!

Question Goffin in heat

I have a 7 yr old Goffin we have had about 2 years. He has been hunching on my hand Alot!! He also likes to try to do it on 2 other females. He seems healthy- and we assume it is a male- that is what we were told when we got him. Boyd is sweet as can be except this problem.

Yeah, this can be a pain, but he can't help it so the best thing to do is ignore it. Don't encourage him by reacting to it, either by scolding or laughing. When he starts in, just put him down for a while. Let him work it out on a toy or something.
