Loudness factor

I have been pondering bringing in a rescue or rehome. There seems to be an overabundance of cockatoos in my area for adoption. We currently have a B&G macaw (and a few other smaller birds) which of course can be loud at times, question is, are cockatoos louder than macaws? Does anyone have both to compare the noise level? I don't care about the noise, I would be concerned that my neighbors would want me out of the neighborhood though. Thanks.

I have both cockatoo and macaw to me they both can be loud but mine only get loud when they are wanting something so I would say about the same and depends on the bird.

You might want to be aware of some health risks that cockatoo dander poses to macaws, apparently. I don't know anything about it personally, but if you do a search on this forum you'll see that some other members talk about it.
