both of my M2's ,U2's and the zons wake me up sometime between just before daylight and 7:30 AM.

i get up and turn on their TV's (they have to watch their cartoons)so they will shut up long enough for me to get some coffee and take a shower.

While i am in the shower the ducks (my U2's ) dive in the shower and ruin my private time by stealing the washcloth and trying to eat my soap(and the shampoo plus anything else they can)

When i get out of the shower all of the birds start raising hell for about 2 hours(it takes 2 hours to feed and water)

then i go outside and grab a smoke while they yell for me to superglue my head to their butt(spoiled brats all of them)

wooo hooo then its time to clean cages and play with birds the rest of the day(and people wonder why i dont have time to scrape and paint the house LMAO)

enjoy your sanity while you have it because it wont last for long.

hahahahahaha

^^^hahahaha that made me LOL. That sounds like a lot of work, but fun. Jesus. What am I getting into? I am an early riser already, no worries about that.. (rambling here, sorry ) But I am worried about her picking up on my moods. I suffer from depression occasionally, and I feel like that would be no help to her, as she's already lost two bird friends/mates (not sure) in the past and is apparently lonely... Cockatoos seem like cheery birds in general though, she might just make me really happy :D

I love hearing about people's routines, it's so interesting! The common thing I see is that more birds, equals more work!

I wouldn't worry about that - my mother has clinical depression and I have type 2 bipolar disorder, and Luen doesn't seem effected in the least. He is, however, very good at cheering me up. He's also really good at frustrating me, but he cheers me up more than often
So yeah, my little guys' healthy even with both of us hanging about. And yes, he does pick up on my moods.. But when I'm annoyed/distressed, he comes over and puts his head under my hand and chirps... He doesn't adopt my mood, he tries to change it.
He then poops on me. Haha... But he's a sweetie.

Perhaps that is why we have Cockatoo's! Good depression therapy! Sunshine seems to know when I am in the mood for cheering up and when to leave me alone. The "too" talk will kick in and she sounds all cute and cuddly, then I hear "I Love You" and she will snuggle and cuddle with me. Nothing beats unconditional love from our feathered friends. Just remeber once you decide to fall in love with one, there is no turning back :-)

Rice mash, well its this mash we made that she loves!
It has 12 bean mix from bulk barn, soem plain white rice, corn and peas, we make a huge batch of it and freeze it in a ice cube try and get her a cube about 2 or 3 times a week. She also has pellets daily. She gets a peanut when she does a trick and she gets fresh fruits and veggies daily (she LOVES LOVES LOVES her green beans). We also give ehr scrambled eggs once a week with some palm oil n it for ehr feather and such. We just setup eher outdoor cage(gotta get pics) for when its sunny out:)
