How to get a Cockatoo not to eat a house

Alright, how do I get Morgan NOT to eat my house? She's trying to eat the walls, the window frame, the light switch cover? Anything she can get near. And yes, her cage is filled with tons of toys, including wood for her to chew on. Her playtop is filled with toys, hanging and foot toys and pieces of wood for her to chew. She's like my kids, she's gonna kill me yet...

Don't keep her cage close to the things you don't wan't wan't her to eat and closely supervise her when she is outside of her cage.Provide her with large wood blocks and toys to occupy her time with so she isn't tempted to chew the things you don't wan't her to chew.Persistance will pay off.I wish you well.

While watching tv, Maxie was on her play stand the other night and I nodded off. oops!
I woke up to find her in a pile of splinters in front of my coffee table. LOL
My coffee table will never be the same! Thankfully that is all she did!!!!

You cannot. You can only supervise. Ask the people in indonesia and Australia - even wild cockatoos will eat your house!

She is supervised while out of the cage but I spend 1/2 the time telling her not to eat things. She has wood and toys in and outside her cage. I've got her sitting in the middle of the dining room now so she can't reach anything.

What is it about kids? They always get in to the things they aren't supposed too.

I know that this is not even compairable to your too but my sun has loads of toys and he still likes to chew on the picture frame by his cage. We have paneling and he can work his way over too it.

But look at that face!!! How can we resist them! Why would a person want to have a pet that they have to constantly watch and entertain?!?!?! Oh, do we do that??? Shhhhhh don't tell anyone!!!

We had to take the pictures off the wall by Morgan. I'm pretty sure she's trying to eat through the wall to outside..lol. Maybe she's planning a break out....

Yup, when I look at that adorable face and those big eyes, I just figure, I can put another wall up I guess. Long as she's happy

Once you figure this out, you can write a book and sell it lol. I don't think you can stop them, nothing i've tried so far works, I guess the woodwork in my home is just so much better looking that all of those colorful wooden toys.

I find it amusing that once I get him off the thing he's not supposed to chew (my poor computer chair or lounge...) he decides chewing my bf's hands is just as good, and flies to him.
He's yet to get a decent chew on me. Just bf. lol
