I have a business trip-how do I prepare?

I just found out I have a 5 day business trip. How can I best prepare Bobbie to limit stress? My husband is home inthe evenings, so Bobbie will have his play time as normal, just no Mom for 5 days! I was thinking just some extra seed cones to keep him occupied. Any ideas? Am I just worrying??

The first night bobbie might notice mom is MIA. but if daddy gives lots of attention, and playtime, sad to say, Bobbie will forget your not there.
I know.**LMAO** I was so stressed when I went to see my sister in Fl. I had to leave my gang with daddy and they didnt eat the first night. After that, they could have cared less. When I got back, I got the cold treatment, like they didnt even know me... ...took a few days to get back to normal.
Just make sure your SO knows all the emergency numbers he might need. Thats more for your peace of mind. enjoy your trip.

When I went to S Carolina this spring, I phoned home to check on Maxie. LOL She did fine for the first few days and then she started mourning for me. I talked to her on the phone and that seemed to make her happy. She laid her head against the phone and blew kisses. LOL

She was thrilled to see me when I got home.

Too's are really different. He should be fine. I would call... People that don't have birds wouldn't understand. LOL

He might just be all hugs and snuggles when you get back, and no nips. ;o)
Have a safe trip!

I am going to get a portable cage so I can take her with me next time.

Ohhh-cbalvino-I do that when I have to work a double shift. I always tell him "Mamma works late". He usually does good, unless it is really late. Then I get the "where the heck have you been" treatment. Ü Thanks for all your words of comfort-it is very helpful!

I also tell my guys where I am going when I leave, and that I will be back soon. Stirling responds,
"bye, see ya later, be good!"

Send a message via MSN to Tiki
I recently got back from a month long vacation. I did as much as I could to prepare them. I told them we were going away but we would be back, I introduced them to the pet sitter and made sure they knew she was "ok" to hang out with. They have each other and she fed them the same things I do so their lives weren't disrupted other than us not being home. If it weren't for the time differences and the fact that we didn't bring cell phones to South America, I would have asked her to call me when she was there so I could call back and speak to the birds. I usually do this if I am in one country long enough to make getting a SIM card worthwhile. I think with your husband looking after Bobbie and your phone calls, she should be fine!

My fids were fine when we got back, didn't resent us nor did they seem upset with us in the least!
