I agree Icednova. I didnt know that she was asking so much or I wouldnt have posted her ad. I misunderstood and thought she was concerned about finding a good home for the bird. I also was alarmed when she said she couldnt stand to play with it. I felt bad for the bird and was hoping someone in the area was looking for a cockatoo. Oh well.

Smile Would love to give the umbrella cockcatoo a loving home

We only have one bird at the moment he's a four year old sun conure and his name is Hammond (after the Hammond B-3 organ) Our home is bright cheery and full of lots of love and laughter. We live in a suburb 0f Chicago and would not only give this bird a loving home, but also do our best to make up for the loss of love of his past owner and fill this birds life with lots of attention and happiness. We would also try and take care of the burden of the expense of his travel up here.

Sincerely,

Michael and Gina Erik Von Hartung

I think it may be a higher price since there's a cage and two stands she is placing with the bird.

Also, just a thought...I read the part where she says, "I can't stand to play with it" as possibly meaning it hurts too much because it reminds her of her father...she did go on to say it wasn't fair to the bird. Some people who are dealing with the death of someone have problems with things (possibly birds, too) that remind them of that absent person. If the father loved the bird so much, it may just be too painful.

On Craigslist you MUST ask for a sizable rehoming fee, or your post will be flagged and possibly removed. Sadly there are evil people out there who look for cheap or free pets they can sell to research labs, use for fighting, etc.

It's gross that you even have to think that way, but I helped someone list a dog on CL one time and got some really scary responses from people. The hope is that if someone is willing to invest a chunk of money, they are thinking seriously about the decision.

I am sure it is negotiable if the perfect owner contacts them and says they can only pay X amount...

I am closing this thread, and deleting any addreses or phone numbers that have been posted here. This is a public forum, and I highly recommend that people DO NOT post addresses or phone numbers on any public forum, for your own saftey.

If anyone has anymore questions or comments about this bird, please contact the seller ON CL. Or use e mail, and research the seller completely to avoid being scammed.

Thanx
