can anyone take this bird?

I keep seeing him advertised on craigslist. He is supposedly very loving and tame. His owner died and in the ad yesterday, the author said she couldnt stand to play with him. I am scared she will give such a sweet bird to a bad home just to get rid of him.

I cant take him. Is there anyone in Phoenix or Arizona who might? Or if not, maybe we can figure out how to get him to you.

bad economy and bird giving

Unofrtunately there is a lot of issues with people and their pets. Many dont take the commitment seriously and many are just careless.
Parrots can live many many years, we need to set up provisions in case we are no longer able to care for them or die before our pets (as we would with a child)
There are also many many scammers (Give away a pair of Hyacynts, just pay 2000 for shipping) Please se nd money up front and by money gram!
Miami Metro Zoo had to open a day were you could donate any exotics you had, people being foreclosed simply left their pets behind on empty homes without food or water, until banks came to re-posess them (sometimes 2 or 3 months later)
We have a long way to go before we become responsible owners

If someone could get him to Georgia, I'd be glad to have him. Morgan might like the company.

Home for Rocky

I would be happy to give him a home here. I live in Las Vegas, I have room in my home and heart. I also have a large walk in outdoor aviary for when weather permits they can enjoy and get some sun, complete with misters.
tnm2@cox.net, please email me with your phone number, I will make arrangements to pick him up.

thanks, Tiff

I have contacted the person on craigs list, asked about the rehoming fee and to offer Noah a new place to dwell.

How come people are now posting adverts about birds needing new homes from Craigslist on here? I'm guessing if people are looking to re-home a bird they'd be searching Craigslist or rescues themselves.

I reposted an add for Calypso a while ago because his advert stated he was destined for 'birdie heaven' if he wasn't rehomed fast-ish. These birds don't seem to have any threats against them... just owners who need/want to pass them on.
