WOW! I never expected this! (pics)

Hello all!
Ok, so before I went up to meet Harley, I did know cockatoos were known to be cuddly... however, I must admit the warp speed that we are bonding has surpassed even my greatest expectations. What a wonderful experience this is! She has gotten one 1 minute time-out due to not listening when I told her to stop eating the house, lol. And as "Red" can attest, (she heard her over the phone) now all I have to do is: , and Harley will say, "NO, NO, NO" and stop... (well, most of the time...for now at least, ) I never imagined to have fallen in love with a "non-baby" bird so deeply, so quickly.
Sunday afternoon I spent a good part of the afternoon hanging out with Harley trying to explain to her that I am called "mommy". She always says "Hellooooo Harley" to me and I was really trying to get her to understand that SHE is Harley... I am mom. Well, I bet most of you can guess where that went... ... I know what you're thinking... new owner, over zealous...I gotcha.... So, once I realized I was getting nowhere, but a tad hopeless, I let her off the hook... for now.

AND THEN IT HAPPENED!!! (dunt dunn dah!) I was talking to the hubbie on the phone yesterday and said let me talk to Helio for a sec... I spoke to him, and he let out his usual happy to hear mommy squeak, then I asked to speak to Harley... as soon as she heard my voice, she said, "Mommie! Hiiiiiiiiiiiiii Mommmmmmieeee! Mommie!" I'm a sap, I know... yes, I did tear up a bit.
Of course, last night I tried and tried to get her to say Mommie again... Nuthin'... just as I expected.

That is so cool. It's great how quickly he has taken to you. One article I read said Cockatoos are the smartest (I will not repeat that to Davey or Bing). Harley has probably figured out pretty quick that he can trust you and is probably so happy to be in a home where he is loved and given attention.

Oh no!!! Your in trouble woman! Hehehehe They are such loving creatures! When Sunshine gets in trouble after she has sat there for awhile she will all of a sudden say "I Love You" and make kissing noises. They put us under a spell and we are hooked! Your gonna spoil that bird!!! How could you not??? Just try and not to forget all the other animals, it is easy to do with a Cockatoo! How exciting for you! See! How can one part with such a loving bird! I admit it, I can't! LOL

The best thing I can tell you is to say Hi Mommie every time you greet the bird. She will begin saying it everytime you approach.

FORGET ALL MY OTHER ANIMALS?!@!!@??? Don't you worry about that, my dear... never happen! You must not have seen pictures of my other babies... Helio in the ringneck forum... Rigby in the budgie forum... Nosferatu in the lovie forum... Not to mention, Arlo & Hiratio (mommie's boys all the way... chinese foo dogs), Mr. Snuggles, our female lap bunny, & Saber, the cat. Oh, no... I could never forget them! My hubbie laughs at me because I sometimes set the timer so everyone gets equal amounts of mommy one on one time. (he thinks I do it for the animals... I really do it more for me... I enjoy each and every second spent with each of my babies!)

Awwwww thats wonderful! You have your own Zoo! Lucky lady! That must be difficult to juggle them all! I have 2 birds and a dog and they keep me busy! Congrats again! Harley is lucky to have found a great new home and mommie like you!
