Question Anyone have a Ducorps

hi everyone, I post rarely but i do have a question. I have a CAG,Sun Conure and a Hahns. I was never going to get a Cockatoo due to noise and their reputation for being needy and the consequences if they don't get enough attention. I work full time and my schedule can be changeable. Then I heard about the Ducorps now breeders and some owners claim they are the perfect bird to have. they are quiet. they are not needy and more independent. I would love to hear from anyone who owns one for an honest opinion. Thanks! Karen

Hi there, I have a male Ducorps which I got last year, he was only a year old when I got him but already looking for a new home. I don't know what other peoples Ducorps are like but mine is pretty noisy and doesn't like to be left alone. If I'm home but not in the same room as him and he has to be in the cage he will contact call to me (which is loud but not the same as a scream) for up to an hour. He also pins himself to the side of the cage as soon as I come home from work and will look at me pleadingly until I let him out.

The only time he ever does the Too "scream" is if something startles him, like the dog jumping up or something like that. However he is still only a baby so it will probably be a couple of years before he finds his voice

They have a weird kind of call, it reminds me of a seagull lol
