I Adopted A Less Sulfur Cockatoo

I came across an old friend I used to go to school with and she had an ad on craiglist for her cockatoo and amazon to be rehomed together, as they are in love with eachother..well it was love at first site with Roxy the cockatoo.Bob the amazon is a cutie too, Roxy has overpreened him and his poor head is bald, lol. Boy can Roxy do some serious damage to my furniture, she started on my wall, but I quickly moved her cage!! She is three years old..she is so affectionate and sweet, could want cuddles all day if I gave them to her. I thought maybe Bob would be overprotective of her but he is not. He does not mind you touching her, but if he cant see what you are doing to her he asks ''what are you doing to her?" over and over, he is a hoot. he gives her wolf whistles constantly. Alot of you seem to love your too's and i am already falling in love with them both..my question is it has only been two days she has been here but she wont come off cage at all. Her previous owner said she would come off the cage once in awhile, I am hoping she does, I would love to hold her..is there any advice on how to gain her trust to come off cage? she is three, so there is still a chance to train her with other things, an older bird is set in his ways but hopefully with Roxy she will be acceptable to change. Here is a pic of my girl:

I think I saw that ad on the Southern Maryland craigslist. Were these birds in Easton? I'm so glad that they found a home together. I was very interested in the Amazon, but I can't do the Too's 'cause of my asthma. Best of luck with them!

What a pretty bird. I love them but I don't know that I could ever give them all of the attention they need and still give my other guys the attention they deserve. It sounds like she found the right owner with you.

What about Bob? What kind of Amazon is he? Any pictures?

I do own a sun conure and a greencheek and a nanday also. So my time is pretty much consumed. I have always wanted a cockatoo and an amazon (Bob is an oranged wing) i believe, its hard to tell when the top of his head is plucked courtesy of Roxy. I will post pics of Bob in the amazon section.
