My galah is the sweetest little beeb I could ever dream of! And according to other board members, they're one of the easiest cockatoos to care for, whereas the tales and videos I've heard/seen of Goffins depict them to be somewhat hyper... That said, I've never met one in person, and personalities in parrots vary as greatly as they do in people... Hmn.

Count this as one totally biased vote for a galah, though. Hee. GO THE PINK CHICKENS.

Thanks for the reply,just wondering do you have a male or female and do you no which is a better pet,is it best to get one when they just start eating seeds or younger and have you ever had problems with your galah such as hormonal,biting etc......
THANK-YOU MICK.

Oh dear.

Actually, Luens' yet to be DNA sexed, but at a guess (you can sometimes tell by a galahs' eye colour - supposedly females have red and males brown to black or something...) we assume Luen is a boy.
Hes' also a rescue, so we're STILL weaning him into pellets after a life of nothing but bird seed bells o.o I always prefer to suggest rescuing birds rather than buying from a breeder, because cockatoos on average go through eight homes in their lifetime...
All birds bite sooner or later. Luens' not given me any terribly painful ones - just the occasional nip to let me know I'm doing something he doesn't like, but I expect that to change when he hits the terrible twos. I've not had many problems with hormones seeing as hes' so young, but my friends' galah was remarkably easy to deal with when it was in its' hormonal stage, at least when you compare to some other cockatoos.

So lets' see, if I were you, I'd actually be looking for a rescue that was already past the terrible twos, but I'd be careful to make sure it hadn't developed any problems that may become a problem in your home. Buuut thats' just me :}

Another Bias vote for a galah cos still yet to meet a goffin. We had a galah and she was awesome, females and males are both great.
