Cockatoo behavior book?

I'm looking for a book, DVD, whatever, anything that can offer me information on cockatoo behavior. Rico does many things that have me searching for what he's trying to tell me. Some I am slowly figuring out with time, but stumbled on a new one today. Kinda funny.
He has these hissing snorts that he has always done. In the beginning I thought he was trying to tell me to stop whatever I was doing or he'd bite. Through time I've figured out this is not the case. I thinks he's excited when he does this, but want to make sure. I am also trying to be careful in not doing certain things to him that get him sexually excited.
I would love to find a book simply on cockatoo behavior. I would love to find one on U2 behavior but think I might be asking too much. Does anyone know of one?

Thanks Tammy. I'll start looking through it now. I just want to make sure I know (as much as possible) the things he's trying to tell me. And I want to make sure I'm not encouraging something now that eventually I would find out I should have never let it start.

Two great books to buy which are written by Sally Blanchard, a bird behaviorist, are "The Companion Parrot Handbook" and "The Beak Book". Both are very good books on bird behavior. You can order online at www.companionparrot.com or buy from Amazon.com. Some bookstores carry the books as well.

When we adopted Seymour, he came with "The Companion Parrot Hand Book". We have both read it now and wish we had had it BEFORE we got parrots. I think I will be investing in the Beak Book too. I am just now realizing how many differences there are in the different parrot species. Thanks for the sites about cockatoos. I need help with behaviors too.

feathered children

Treat them the same way you would a 3 or 4 year old child & you won't go far wrong. As a matter of fact, if every intending parent looked after a cockie for the first few years of its life they would learn a lot about child raising.
