What's safe?

I am interested in making my own wood toys for my umbrella "too",considering the prices I have seen in stores and am curious as to what wood is safe for TONTO.I know treated woods are not safe but would like to know of any others to stay away from.Tonto and I both thank you for your assistance.

Most untreated woods are safe, but the easiest to find is pine. You can get pine scraps at a lumber yard (just make sure it's untreated) or buy shapes at craft stores, Walmart, etc. They have precut pieces in all shapes and sizes for craft projects.
