Watch your cockatoo to see if he's having any trouble with balance, changes in eating, or anything else that could indicate he has a medical problem. If you suspect this, he should see a vet right away. You probably should at least call the vet and describe the behavior, tell them how long it's been happening and so on.
When parrots vomit (as opposed to regurgitating food on purpose) they shake their heads side-to-side to shake out the vomit. You'd probably see evidence of the vomit on the cage and walls. Parrots do shake their heads for various reasons (like when adjusting their feathers, for example). It's important to look for other things that may be happening to see whether or not it's something out of the ordinary. If it's been a year or more since your bird's last check up, it wouldn't be a bad idea to have one done.

Hi KimBear,
We just went to the vet last night and all is well, he's really healthy... he is definitely not vomiting or anything of the sort. The vet said its just him being playful probably, and I think he is right... it doesn't seem that bad really, he only does it usually around the same times he is dancing. :icon_smil |
