I am allergic to cats and dogs are Cockatoos allergens the same?

How do the allergens compare? Basically the same or different? Thanks in advance!

You would probably find the allergen WORSE as tooz put out a powder down that gets everywhere. For those mildly sensitive misting the bird routinely helps. You will find dust in the environment. Most of these guys want hugs and loving and that will usually leave some feather dust behind on you.

Different people are allergic to different things, so there isn't any way to tell in advance whether you'd be allergic to 'Toos. But, since you already have allergies to cats and dogs, I would be very hesitant about bringing in a 'Too or a 'Tiel, even perhaps a Grey (far less dusty than the other two) into your house. A species of parrot that is not a powder down bird might be okay.

I'd suggest spending some time with a 'too and seeing how your react. I'm exactly like you...allergic to anything with fur. I just have to look at a cat and I feel itchy lol.

I figured I would be allergic to the Greys and Toos, but after getting to spend some time with a couple of LS2's and a G2, I had no issues. :) My dad's the same way as well...allergies/ashtma to fur but he's just fine with our Grey. I think Gizzy would be heartbroken if her Grandpa was allergic. She's in love with him!
