Mollucan too needs a home

I've recently been contacted by a wonderful lady who cannot keep her 9 year old, very loved, very beautiful M2 boy anymore. Due to a divorce and having to move with her older children to an apartment, working two jobs, etc she wants what is best for her baby (she's had him since he was 6 months old) and she asked me to take him. Unfortunately I am allergic to 'toos it seems now and I can't with good conscience get him so I offered to help her find a home. She asked it to be with someone that is a clone of me. SO all the Magdalena clones please come out.

Pumpkin is in perfect feather, on a great diet, loves to snuggle and put his head inside shirts, is friendly and does talk some. She just doesn't have time to take him out when she comes home exhausted. This is a VERY hard decision for her and her daughters so please be kind. I am not even sure that she's asking a fee just that he goes to a good home where he can vocalize (not like in an apartment) and be out of his cage, with bird knowledgeable folk. I believe she is in the NYC area and it would probably be best if someone could come meet her and put her mind at ease and meet Pumpkin and make sure there is a connection. She doesn't want to put Pumpkin into a rescue.

Like mabird trying to help that family place Lucy the DYH I told this lady I would not forward her info to any family or person I wouldn't place one of MY babies with. Please PM me if you are interested in Pumpkin and any information about yourself you feel I should pass on to her and what you can offer Pumpkin. I'll include a picture of him as well. Stories like this just break my heart and I'd take him in a second if we weren't already about to be flooded with birds, I wasn't severely allergic and didn't live in a apartment, secluded as it is.

I'm not sure if there is a rush on this I do believe she cares more about finding the perfect home than a quick one, she has been in her current situation for a couple of years. I believe she is just now realizing there may be no end in sight to her not giving Pumpkin the time he deserves. If she is in a rush I may say screw the allergies and foster him until I can find him a wonderful home but I think that would be a last resort. I know there's a lot of people looking for M2's and only finding mutilators or behaviorally challenged ones, they are still wonderful birds but this little guy he is loved and though too often left alone has plugged through and is adapting. I think the biggest shock to him will be to leave his loving home. If you can give him a soft landing please PM me.

Well alright, I'll take him, twist my arm. :D Seriously, waiting on more information from her, don't know where we'd stick another huge cage. Oh god yes I do, somebody please save me from temptation!

I wish my situation were different. I swear I won't have a 'too but his face and his story could get me to change my mind if I lived in a different rectory.

RubyMuse, if only. Now with the two we are getting and the possible extra grey there is just no way. Maybe if I wasn't allergic, but you just have to know your limits and three birds is mine lol (the zon will be my fiance's so allegedly less work for me, let's see how that goes). Two if one's a 'too. :D

Tom I'd send him up to you in a heartbeat. What's that? I can hear the bells of St. Patricks in NYC callllllllling you. :D

I'd also like to reiterate: Please PM me if you are interested in Pumpkin and any information about yourself you feel I should pass on to her and what you can offer Pumpkin. I want to know everything about you, write me a novel. I am here looking out for Pumpkin's best interest, not mine, not your's and not even his owner's. You will be interrogated, this is not personal, I am selective and want this boy (and every bird) to go to the right home!

I want to know what bird's you've had/have now, what kind of home you live in, what your neighbors are like, if you have children and if they have tasty fingers they can't keep out of cages, if you have other pets, if you work, how much time you have to give to a bird that will be grieving the loss of his bond partner, if you've had a 'too, what happened to it, if you haven't ever had a 'too expect to be interrogated even more. The more you write the less I have to get all ninja and read EVERY post you have written on this board (and don't think I won't)! :D

Thank you to everyone who views this thread. :)

Wow, If I didn't already have ongoing plans on a GSC2, I'd love to provide a home.. But I know my limits.. and one 2 is enough for me. I'm also close to the Western NY area..

Good luck finding him a great home!

I completely agree with the life story of the perspective new home. I talked to the lady's daughter for half an hour last week (she was screening replies to the online ad), then talked to the lady for 20 minutes tonight. During the middle of the conversation, my 5 year old had a meltdown over toys from a 25c vending machine hours earlier. I think having her on the phone while I dealt with the situation really showed more character than I could type out.

Wow, all I can say is he is beautiful, and it is AWESOME to see an M2 that has obviously been very loved and well taken care of in his lifetime.
