Quick question

OK, so I have had Murphy for 2 weeks. Took him a few days to let me get him out of the cage. We seem to have that tackle over with now. Now when I take him out he wants me rub him under the feathers (he lifts the wings for his rub there). My questions is this.........when I am petting him and giving him head scritches, his butt goes straight up. What is he telling me?? It has been 2 weeks, has he bonded to me that fast? He will not let anyone else near him yet. (Especially hubby and the boys) I surely don't want him to think I am his mate and it's ok to act like this. So, I don't pet him all the way down his back, I stop at the head.

He is telling you that feels good and he would like to go to 2nd base with you;) So he is already looking at you like his mate.

Oh my........that's what I was thinking he wanted. LOL. I am glad he wants to bond and feels happy here. But we have to leave it at that.

If the tail is going UP..I also think that means that "he" is a "she". Has the baby been DNA'd?

From what I have been told, he is a "he". I re-homed him 2 weeks ago. Maybe I need to ask about dna but I think it is has been done. He is the greatest. Maybe I should let him know I am married. LOL

If you can shine a small flaslight at his eyes without scaring him you can tell the sex. On U2's the males have black eyes and the females have brown. It is not 100% like DNA is, but many have used it. I used it on my M2 when she came home and was proven right when she laid an egg:)

Eye color doesn't always tell the truth. I have one that will act just like a hen, has brown eyes and is a boy! I had him DNA sexed! He also acts like a male at times. Confused poor Debbie for over 10 years! LOL

Best to start discouraging any mate behavior right away! That will only lead to some major behavioral problems with a 'Too.
