I don't know whether i should just follow my heart, scoop him up and love him forever... or refuse to pay any money for him because of where he's from. That shop is awful and i jsut feel sick at the thought of giving them any money.

I understand your concerns. Wait to hear back from the owner or call again. I want you to look at this situation in full context. Though you have a big heart as many of us do when it comes to things like this, you could be looking at thousands of dollars of medical bills. Can you afford that? I don't know your financial position. But please consider this.

My TAG Gryphon passed away from a cancerous growth that presented as a lump on his face/cheek area. We vetted him, took him to specialists in avian cancer and spent thousands of dollars just to diagnose. in the end, they were unable to save him. This was a terribly heartwrenching situation. Please be sure they give you a written diagnoses before you commit to buying this baby. We had 10 years with Gryph before he became ill, and were able to keep him going happily for 18 months post diagnoses, but to bring home a new baby and be hit with that type of news would be unbearable.

I don't think i'll bring him home, i have 2 spare cages but neither of them are big enough, and i sold my aviary and large cage a while ago... I have the time and space and knowledge and love to look after him, but I can't afford any more large vet bills.. I dunno... He was just such a sweetie.

The lump you saw on your bird, was it squishy? The reason i didn't think it was a tumour was that it wasn't hard. I always imagined a tumour to be firm.

That is to funny about you having nighmares about him. That's what my mom said about Isabella our U2. Friday when she was at the pet store and was playing with her when she put her back the U2 cried. My mom said she had nightmares about it and went back to the store and got her. So that's how we got Isabella LOL, or should I say Isabella got us. :)

Gryph's "lump" was drainable, with a solid seedlike center, so it felt soft and moveable, I don't know if I would call it squishy, but it was not hard.

Not yet, I was planning on calling them tomorrow. One of the girls at work had her day off today and she was gonna go in and check it out today. I'll call her in the morning and find out what she saw!

Then I might go in.. or if i do that I'll walk out with another bird :(

Ignite your invisible forcefield before entering that store! Nothing can break through to your hands, heart or wallet! LOL!
