Wood burning fireplaces
I have a six month old sun conure whose play place is in the room next to where the fireplace is being burned. I read somewhere that the smoke could be bad for birds, so I kept him in the back of the house most of the day. Is there any danger in burning a fireplace with birds in the house?

Depends on how well you maintain it. If you are talking about a woodstove or insert, you should be fine. If you are referring to a normal open fireplace, you need to be vigilant about keep the flue and damper adjusted and the chimney clean. Also, you do need a glass screen to keep flying birds out.
