Sunflower seeds have a high fat content and are not good to feed to birds everyday. Most small parrot seed mixes have no more than 5% sunflower seeds. You can also save them for threats. In addition to the small parrot mix, my birds get fresh veggies everyday-corn, mung beans, carrot/pea mix, broccoli and whatever else I have on hand that I can get them to eat. They also really like toast as a treat and any bird who is in my room on weekends will usually come over and help him/herself to my breakfast-ham, cheese and eggs.

The Pretty Bird Premium Small Parrot Seed looks a lot like hamster food... It's got pellets, a lot of sunflower seeds, and who knows what else... I don't feed any of my birds sunflower seeds, and none eat pellets. I have used peanuts as treats before.

I feed all my birds (from bourkes and budgies to a cherry head conure and cockatiels) Kaylor-Made Sweet Harvest Cockatiel No-Sun seed. To this I add fresh and cooked foods.
