It might look like a painted conure, however since it does not have a red stomach it is a pearly conure... which in the photo section in google, if you look up pearly conure, or even "Pyrrhura perlata" it could give you photos of the crimson bellied conure (which has since been reclassified, however there are still sites out there that confuse the terms/name).

Seems things are confused in every way bit and form... From my previous post, I had gathered (from some site) that the crimson bellied conure was reclassified... however I was short in looking for the entire truth, and it was actually the pearly conure that was reclassified, if I have the story straight now!
To put simple however, the pearly conure is a subspecies of the crimson bellied conure.... hope this clears things up!

Pyrrhura perlata
Sub-species: Pyrrhura perlata lepida I think this is the same bird. It is a sub species of the Crimson Bellied (Formerly Pyrrhura rhodogaster) I don't know what the common name would be for it though. Outback Aviaries has info on it. |
