They grow up so fast!

Murphy is nine weeks old on Saturday and he think he is such a big boy now that he is starting to refuse his baby formula!

Yesterday he was trying to avoid it but ended up eating it and this morning he didn't want any formula at all...I guess this means he is ready to start the weaning process (***SIGH***) if only they stayed babies forever! He is already chewing on pellets but was still getting 4 feeds of formula a day. I guess now I'll cut it down to 3 (but he only wanted 2 yesterday)....

I'll also start giving him alot more fruit and veges now I spose....

Well on one hand I'm pleased that he is becoming confident and assured in his environment, but it's hard to let the baby stage go (yes I'm sure most people will think I am crazy lol)

i dare say your little green cheek conure is starting to wean him/herself, If he/she only wants 2 feeds a day give that to him. At 9 weeks old he should be only on 1/2 feeds a day, but then every bird is different. You should know when he wants hand feeding he will beg for it. I hand raised my MoJo my green cheek conure from 4 weeks old she was fully weaned by 6 weeks old on her own i did not force her.

Yep, it appears as though Murph is weaning himself as he is now refusing the formula altogether at times, sometimes going a whole day and only wanting it in the evening.

He is getting into the pellets and stuffing his face on them lol...we are also leaving fresh fruit and veges down for him.

It's just he's not a little baby any more and I miss it.
