My Sun will do the same thing once he's in his happy hut. When I first observed this behavior, I was curious to see how 'serious' he was about protecting his space, so I "called his bluff" by slowly and deliberately putting my finger close enough for him to bite (if he so wished). Instead of biting, his response was to grab my finger in his beak and simply hold onto it; he didn't even pinch... (Obviously a mild warning on his part... He was rewarded with a quick head rub and verbal praise, and then I left him alone.)

LOL!!! Charlie doesn't have a happy hut, but he has a littl wreath that he sleeps in... he doesn't mind it at all if I bother him, as he enjoys being touched and held! What bothers him the most is being stuck inside his cage for any length of time!

As for Noel, well she'll come to my voice in the middle of the night (with lights off) if I so wish... no issues stepping up either.

when valo is in his hut, i know better than to disturb him *fear* LOL
he always wants attention, so if he heads into his hut i know it's nap time for him... and as grumpy as he gets when he's sleepy, i would not try to disturb him he got his human well trained.

Chaska doesn't mind at all if I reach in and pet her when she is in her happy hut. I can basically do anything I want with her, but only me. She doesn't like anyone else!

Bonita does the same thing. She has never tried to bite but she probably would if givin the chance. But if you open her cage door & she comes out of her happy hut, your ok. Romeo only does it cause he's mad he has to go night night. LOL Crystal
