Cage question

I have a bit extra this christmas and I was thinking about getting Tuc another cage, specifically this one: http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll...5701&rd=1&rd=1
Does this seem like a good deal and a good cage for a Sun Conure?
Can anyone who has a cage like this tell me; does the seed catcher really work?

This is the cage I have now which is nice but it is messy and I liked the features of the seed catcher and the piece of metal behind the food cups.

The cage you have now isn't necessarily safe... but the one you are looking at, well it's a good cage, from the looks of it! So, I'd go for it!

The one your looking at is almost exactly like Doyle's cage. I love those seed catchers, I'd be going nuts without it. What is dangerous about the one she has now?

I've heard of a story of a bird who sat on top of a cage that had the open top to it (different style I assume, but still, an open topped cage nevertheless). The bird decided to take off flying, which dislodged the perch, and made the cage top come crashing down. Think about how deadly that could have been if the bird had fallen down instead of flew up? I suggest that if one ever has one of these style of cages, that they either take the precautions that this CANNOT happen (i.e. make sure the doors are secured somehow other than using that perch) or to not open them at all...

And the legs appear to be styled, and there's always the possibility that the bird(s) could it's head stuck in the opening of the legs. One person has a cage that has the "V" style legs, and their eclectus got it's head stuck in the legs TWICE. If the person wasn't home when something like that happened they could have lost their baby. They ended up taking softballs and 'rigging' them so that they fit down at the bottom of the "V" in the leg and removed that possible hazard.

Thanks for the replies. Tuc really likes the open top and it fits the perch really tight but if I keep this one for him I will attach some wingnuts to the ends and bolt the perch on. I don't mind sweeping up seeds but since I started up the new diet for Tuc (which he loves btw) his food is messier when he flings it. I wish the top on the other cage was open but I like that it has its own tray for the top so he dosen't poo on his stuff underneath.
