they are SO cute! I feel for you. The waiting can be painful. The time will be here before you know it.

I'll put my 2c worth in here. My guys (the sun, lorikeet and at this stage GCs) are in a darkened room until about 730. I get a few screams (normally in reply to the others or while she's playing and yelling at a toy) but nothing much until then. I find Dharma carries on if I leave the room, put her back in her cage or put something in her cage that she likes. It's not a consistant scream, spasmodic through the day.
I'd love to get another sun to go with Dharma, but at this stage I'm loving the bond that she and I have and I don't want to share her with another sun. |

I think I'm pretty lucky. He doesn't scream constantly. Pita screams when he knows I'm in the house but can't see me, like when I go to the bathroom or another room. He screams when I'm on the phone, but I just leave the room he's in, and ignore him, and he eventually stops. Other than that he screams randomly, and I usually have no idea why...LOL If he knows I'm making him breakfast or dinner, he gets excited and sort of screams...more of a squawk.
In the morning when I wake up, and he hears me, he starts by ringing his bell, then starts saying "good boy", and gets louder until I uncover his cage. The screaming doesn't really bother me, unless I'm doing something important, but I just ignore him, and don't react to it. I think there are birds that are much louder than a Sun, it's just that for such a small bird, they can make a loud noise...lol

one way of getting your bird to stop screaming while on the phone, that works for me. when they scream tell them NO and at the same time raise your hand in the stop postion and keep doing it until they realize that that hand sign means stop. now all i have to do if the fids start carring on while on the phone,i just put up my hand and they stop. i dont even have to say no and they respond to the hand. you don't have to be right next to the cage, im usually about 10 ft or more. the amazing thing is i can tell them no w/out the sign and they wont stop but just as soon as i put up my hand they stop.

My sun, Quidditch, screams if I'm late in feeding her in the morning. Usually I'm downstairs with food ready by 7:00, but on the weekends I'm slower and then the screaming starts. She also does it when I come home from work. As soon as she hears the garage door opening, she starts in. It stops as soon as I come in the door and show her a little attention. Once in a while she'll scream while I'm on the phone. It's never clear why, but I think she thinks it's funny.
