Slow but steady!

So, i think we have a morning routine figured out.

Normally, i wake up at around 7:30 in the morning, take a shower, feed the fish, cat, and vegeta, make my lunch for work, watch an episode of CSI, and then head out. Since Swaps has moved in, i've altered a bit..

Now every morning i get up at 7am, mostly because he is an alarm clock himself. He doesn't yell, but this morning i heard him...muttering to himself at 7, lol. I've taken to showering at night so i have more time to spend with him in the mornings (i keep him on a real-time daylight schedule, he goes to bed when the sun sets). So every morning, i move his playgym to my bathroom counter, turn on the water in the sink, and he gets his morning bath. After he's done, i wash my face while he preens, and then we sit together for about 30 minutes and watch the morning music videos. And today, while he was sitting on my lap, he let me scratch his head! I'm very excited about this, since he seemed to not like it when i attempted it a few days ago.

I feel like he likes me a lot more now. Oh, and last night i was eating a T.V. dinner and he was out...i read somewhere on this board i think that GCC have to have some of whatever you are eating...no joke! Swaps practically lept into my beef strogonoff.

Anyway, sorry for rambling, I just HAD to talk about him somewhere!

Aww, you're not rambling at all. I am so glad Swaps is adjusting well. And he let you scratch his head! That is awesome! Doyle also wants whatever I am eating. Last night he took some of my chicken and mashed potatoes, and this morning he flew over and stole a piece of cereal, lol. They are such cuties, I love the way Doyle walks over so innocently and takes a piece off my plate, so cute!

[your not rambling!]
and that all sounds about right to me! congrats on making progress! chances are, now that hes let u scratch his head, he'll start beggin for scratches..and your only going to keep getting closer. he is starting to trust you.

anytime i start to scratch shadow. he LOVES LOVES it (what bird wouldnt?), and "hints" to me where he wants me to scratch by puttin his foot there and giving himself a quick little scratch. its really cute.
shadow always wants a piece of what im having too.. he will stop what hes doing and try to dive at my food. steak and cheese sub, soup, spaghetti.. doesnt matter. if im eating it he wants it. (although he cant always have it if its not good for him-in that case ill give him something else that is)
