Question Traveling with your birds???

I was wondering if anyone like takes their birds to their friends houses when they go or out to different places...Even to stay the night????
Im asking because I do stay at my boyfriends house alot but, I live with my father which will be my Sun Conures Permanent home. Sometimes I stay at my boyfriends house for a couple days at a time and my dad doesnt mind one bit to take care of my birds at all. He wants them as much as I do but, I still feel bad about leaving him with them. I am planning on staying home ALOT more when my Sun Conure gets home but, my boyfriend also said I can bring my baby over anytime I want...
I was wondering how stressful this is on a bird???
I know some ppl take their birds on car rides and all kinds of different things but, I dont know what is your opinions on this??..
I plan to make sure my new birdie knows my boyfriend...So, that part wont be so bad...The ride from his house to my house is about 3-5minutes??
This probably sounds odd but, just wondering if I could work out a routine maybe with him to do this?

We have taken Doyle overnight to my parents' house. It always seems like alot of trouble though because I have to bring so much stuff with me and then tell them all the bird rules (no scented candles, teflon, etc.). We also take Doyle on car rides and sometimes when we run errands. He likes to look out the window. Usually when I have to be gone overnight I just get someone to come stay at our house, much easier.

Well, Im thinking of having a set up here(boyfriends house) for my Sun Conure...That way I wont have to bring EVERYTHING!!...I can buy a cage off ebay that will be suitable for him...And just bring things like a few toys, his play gym, and I can always have a baggy of his food put up....It wouldnt be to much trouble as far as bringing things over for him. His cage would be in the foyer which is right beside my boyfriends room so that wouldnt be a problem. I think Im mainly worried about the stress on the bird...Im sure though if I am with him and if he knows eric it will make things fine. After a few times of doing this Im hoping that he would be ok!!

Doyle never seems stressed about new things. But he is generally very laid back and we started introducing him to new people and places as soon as we got him. I guess you will just have to wait and see if you have a relaxed little guy too! Only 9 more days, I bet you are getting really excited! Tiffany

That cage looks okay although I think it's made for smaller birds than conures... It may do fine, but then again you might want to look for one that has legs or a stand, incase you can't put the cage on top of something.

Not too long ago I had to move all 13 birds to a friends house for several nights cause we were spraying the house with Ortho Flying Insect Killer. The birds that seemed the most stressed were the bourkes, but I think it has partly to do with one that has breathing problems. The least happiest was probably Casey for being stuck inside a cage. And other than Charlie for being very clingy, the rest seemed to do fine. The worste part for all of them was probably the transportation between places, and some of them having to be caught and put into smaller cages than what they are used to.

I didnt see the 7/16th bar spacing...I thought it was 1/2" bar spacing...so the bar spacing is to small otherwise the cage would be great...Its only a few inches smaller then the one at my house..
