got a question about sun conures.

I'm a owner of a 7 mth. old sun conure, with other birds of course. Anyway I own several books of all types of birds but can not find any info on what the proper weight of a sun conure should be. I have a diginal scale which you can use in grams and oz. I weighed my sun the other day it looks like his weight is 3 1/2 oz., is this considered good weight for him or does he need to weigh more?

This reference shows that the average weight for a Sun Conure should be around be between 110 to 130 grams (Link provided below). I'm assuming that these weight averages are for adult birds, but could be wrong. My 5-month SC weighs about 116 grams.

well I'm reading 97 grams, does this mean he's alittle under weight? gosh he eats all the time, is there something I can do to fatten him up?

ok I did my math on what my conure's weight will be converted from grams to oz..3 1/2 oz. is 99.22 in grams. So I guess he's gotta alittle fatten up to do, but not by much compared to your all's conures.

Since he's still a baby, I'm not sure if that's a good weight or not. I would think its fine since he's under a year. Kiri, my sun, weighs 118 but she just turned a year in October.

you know, the weight also depends on the size... i believe our sunny is 110g, but he's also not the smallest in the basket.
check the breast bone - if the middle sticks out pointy than your little fid needs some more flesh on the bones if you can feel it, but it's not too pointy then s/he should be fine
