Exclamation Flying Feathers

We have two cinnamon conures... Yogi is 5 months & Boo Boo is 4 months. Other than being spoiled brats, and all around pain in the rump, they are attended to 24/7. The only time they spend in their cage is when we have to leave the house for a short period of time or at night to sleep.

Recently, both Yogi and Boo Boo have been losing feathers...either plucking or falling out..several a day. Most are the really fluffy down, but some are a little larger. I was thinking that this might be the beginning of a molting process, but since this is my first "bird" experience, I'm not sure. We live in a small town and there is no such thing as an avian vet. It's a 3 hour drive to the nearest one. I'm very careful about their diet. They get fresh veggies and fruits twice a day, pellets, and seeds. They are both very playful, energetic, curious, cuddly, just my sweet little babies. I guess i'm hoping that someone will tell me that this is normal for them to lose a few feathers or that they are molting.... Just concerned.. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Sounds like molting to me! Yes, it sounds perfectly normal! All you need to do is make sure they get daily bathes!
