Question Wing growth

Hi... I've had my Sun Conure now for 2 months (he is 6 months old) and it does not seem that his wings which were clipped are not growing. Is it possible that the pet shop clipped wings that do not grow back?

He will grow new feathers once a year. He will have a juvenile molt fairly soon and may grow some wing feathers back. A juvenile molt is really mostly body feathers that turn yellow. I am in South Africa so I am not sure when USA birds will molt.

i have had shadow over a year.. when i got him his wings were clipped. he went through a molt a few months later but never molted any flight feathers. now he is going through another molt and is loosing all his clipped feathers.

it may take some time for him to loose the ones that are clipped. they will eventually grow back when he molts them

my sun is 16 months old. the prior owner had him clipped, but i wanted him to fly, so i havent clipped him again. he started flying at about 14 months. he could just flutter to the ground before that, then he was able to fly horizontaly, now he can fly up and all around.

his moult is still going on. the more feathers that get replaced, the better he can fly.

if your bird learned to fly before he was clipped, he will relearn faster than if he never flew before.
