when does it wear off?

I've had my sun for two and a half weeks, and I'm absolutely head over heels, gah-gah, in love with him. I find myself reading about parrots, looking at parrot pictures, going online to research birdie toys throughout the day... when I'm supposed to be doing more productive things. I've been fairly useless at work ever since I put in my application to adopt him (from the animal shelter where I found him).

So my question... at what point do I return to normal and stop acting like the crazy love-struck bird lady who only thinks about her conure all day long?

A month!? I'll try to hang in there, but I fear it'll only get worse when/if he starts getting affectionate. =)

No, I think you misread the post. It was a month before she got back to normal function, only. You are officially, The Bird Lady and your life has been forever changed. You will always be maddly in love with him. I've had my quaker for two years and still can't enough of him. I rush home from work just to be with him. He's awesome. And, your baby is gorgeous. They do the simplest things and you will melt. Good luck and welcome to the world of fids.

Well-research might slow down, (with the exception of entering this website every day for tips) but this will probably lead to making toys and treats....at least it did for me. Ü Your enthusiasm is a great thing...and hopefully will balance into a consistency for your new baby.

One more note...I've had Bobbie for 2 months now, and after 4 weeks or so, I was able to limit my research and inquiries to lunch hour. Hmmmm-guess what time it is! Ü

Well im sitting here at "work", and should be doing something productive, but oh well.

as soon as things seem to be normal again, you'll come down with MBS, for which, there is no cure.

What's MBS?? Not "multi-bird syndrome" I hope! That could get messy.

Send a message via AIM to Zoe's Mom
I fell in love with Zoe in March of 2006....a little over a year later I am still in love with her but.....I am sharing it with 2 others too. Birds are like tattoo's. Once you get one its hard to say no to another. Congrats on your bird and I hope you get as much enjoyment from your relationship possible. I find birds to be as fulfilling as children but without the diapers...LOL.
