Do most sun conures talk?

Hey guys, I have a question for you all. I have 2 sun conures and they are around 4 years old and don't talk. I was wondering if most of them do or not?

if they were going to talk, they would have started earlier. mine is 2 and says hello, good boy, bye bye, birdy wirdy, and boogie woogie.

Pita says "i'm a good boy" "peek-a-boo" "peek-a-BOY" "what!" "hi" quacks like a duck, laffs, and says "come on"

I was told when I got them in some of the books I have read on them that they will never talk. They will only make alot of different sounds that they learn. They only thing my babys really do is make a kissing noise to me like I did when they were babies. Thanks for the info.

No most suns don't talk. They have very short vocal chords and can't make most sounds. Those of us that have a talker are just extra lucky...

parrots don't have vocal cords per se.... sounds are made differently, see Bird Talk, Bird Brains: Why Birds Talk

sun conures do have the ability to talk - I've seen many suns who talk, and many who don't. while pita talks up a storm, bella focuses on quacking. it depends on the individual as well as the interaction and training. having 2 reduces the likelihood of them learning to talk, especially if they are bonded to each other. you could still work with them and train them, but nobody can guarantee success

You are right, sorry it is just easier to explain that way.

Darwin talks up a storm too, but there are many sounds that he just will not be able to make because of his anatomy.
