Be very careful bringing your conure outside, even if the wings are clippped she could still get away. Myself, I have a Nanday I would like to train for free flight outdoors. I am confident, and the previous owners said they used to take him out all the time without incident, he'd fly around and always come back. My Nanday is stuck to my shoulder as if his feet were glued there, hes with me every second of my day when I'm around the house, I'd love to expand that to the outdoors in the summer months. I'll continue to do my research for now and make a decision down the road. If you check out youtube you can watch from free flighted macaws and a couple sun conures, not that it provides and training or help, but deff. cool to see, and might make you think twice about taking your conure outside!
As for the beak, it doesnt sound like anything serious, ive done a lot of research in the past and never come acorss something like that, I'm sure its nothing to worry about, but maybe another memeber can provide a better answer. |

HI, I have no clue about the beak spot. tiki never had one.
as for free flight, my sun, tiki has free outdoor flight. you must train him to "come" on command indoors first, and it must be 99.9%, a conditioned reflex, before ever going outside. if a bird gets spooked, and flys to a tree or any place out of reach, and doesnt know how to "come", he will sit there and stare at you wondering why you cant come and get him. soon he will spook again and get farther and farther away, til he's lost. i am currently training my GW, ruby for outdoor flight.
