Thanks Huntress for the info. I'll watch for signs of molting. I like the idea of letting a bird at least learn how to fly, bank a turn etc...so that if she ever got away she might be more able to navigate her way back. We have a lot of kids though (translate that open doors all the time) so we'd need to consider the safety of letting her stay unclipped. We got her from her from Cliff at the Baby Bird Farm in Rockford, IL. He hand raises all his birds. Here's a link to his website -
