Terrible 2's-True or false?

I have been reading that birds, green cheek conures included, go through the terrible twos as they mature like kids do ( starting at about 8 months old or so and lasting until...?). Is this true? Have any of you gone through this and how did you cope?

valo is about a year and 3 mths, and besides being a little moody he's fine so far... granted he generally is a brat

the key is to keep handling the bird when puberty hits... and to be prepared that there could be an increase in nippyness, but generally it's not too pronounced if you keep handling the little one

tiki is 16 months and is going through the change. not as bad as i thought it would be. a little more nippy than before but nothing that i cant deal with.

Buddy was really bad from 6 -18 months, he's improved plenty but still 'tests' me on occation
