I think I'd agree with Monica. 18x18 doesn't leave any room for getting around. Height is good, but with any smaller bird, width is very important too.
And those gcc tails are LONG!

I think it looks ok. But I'm not sure how big it is?? I'm an aussie...metric system here lol, cm, mm, m here lol. I think the second one sounds about right...green cheek tails arent that long...but then again...i have an alexandrine..so they probably are long but it doesnt seem so compared to my alex.

Well first. 2.54cm = 1 inch. Just to help with future comparison's. And yes, a green cheeks tail feathers are considerably smaller than an alexandrine.

Don't get the 18Dx18Lx36H cage. I just got rid of ours and got our green cheek a 20Dx40Lx36H cage. At first the 18x18 seems big enough, but not long after you realize that a cage of that size just isn't suitable for anything other than a lovebird or finch - Green Cheeks like to climb around (and if you allow their wings to grow out they love to fly).

The second brown cage is a much better size to get your little fella... however the brown color might "hide" you little fella (I would recommend white or silver vein).

This is a link to the cage we got our GCC (and you are the second person tonight I've recommened this to - and I am NOT the seller, I just like the cage):
Parrot Bird cages-FD40213 - eBay (item 220237044182 end time May-26-08 16:59:54 PDT)

Here's his actual cage - they were sold out of the white at the time. We didn't install the divider so he has the entire cage to live in.

PowerBBS, the only thing I don't like about that cage you have is the doors... for a single cage it can make perch placement difficult if you have a bunch of wooden perches... (but then, after all, it IS supposed to be divided in half...) Other than that, I agree, it's a great cage!

If you can't go larger than the 24"x20" then that would at least be better than the 18"x18".

I recommend 1/2 inch bar spacing. 3/4 inch is too big for a gcc, he/she will be able to put their head through the bars.

I also recommend the largest cage (with 1/2 inch spacing) you have room for and can afford. I never would have dreamed such a small bird would need such a large cage. My gcc never stops moving unless she's asleep. She acts like she has adhd the way she is constantly moving around her cage.

I now what you mean about the double doors. It was a mental debate I went into for a few days before purchasing. Once I got the cage though, I had no regrets as we actually only use one door and leave the other locked so we could put a wooden (or otherwise) perch there across the cages. Having the large doors does make it easier to put the fella to bed at night (as he never wants to willingly go back into). The cage you see is supposed to be a 1/2" bar spacing. Which I actually think is way to small of spacing for a green cheek (as you can see even a finch couldn't get it's tiny head through those bars). Not installing the divider was our plan from the start. I wanted to give him room to do a bit of small fight from perch to perch if he wanted (and does) to. He's got a few more toys in his cage now than what you see and couple more perches. I don't know what possessed me to get two, but yes... those are two "happy huts" in there for him as well.

We have put our green cheek into our Sun conures cage with 1" bar spacing with no troubles. He's never even tried to poke his head out of there. He prefers the larger cage with the 1" bar spacing as well; I think it feels less confining than the 1/2" bar spacing cages to him; we know this as at night when we go to put them to bed he will sometimes fly into her (the Sun's) cage instead.

Having said that though, I wouldn't recommend a 1" bar spacing for a green cheek, but I would easily recommend up to 3/4". But that's just based on my personal experience and opinion.
