Missing my Tiki

First, I dont want to be flamed. My broken heart and quilt is my pain since last thurs (5-22-08)

I am disablited with RSD (reflex symapthy disorder) on my left foot. I lost my walking ability last year when I got Tiki. I use crutches to get about. It was raining and about 40 degress on Thurs morning and I could not get the dogs to go outside. The door in the laundry oppen was not closed in case the dogs would go potty they could push it open. I was feeding feeding tiki and I dropped my cruches and tiki flew into the laundry room instead of the living room by the time I picked up my cruthces and heopped to the room I saw heim fly out in the backyard and go. Me and the dog tried to run as fast as we could but I had no idea where he went.

Me and my husband searched for hours on Thurs. When my daughter came home we searched some more. I then had a horrible fall. I put my whole weight on my foot that has not had any since Oct. That put me out for a few days. We live on a mesa surroned by canyons, I just dont know where to look anymore.

We placed over 300 fliers door to door to business. Place an ad in paper. We have heard nothing that really anyone can say with a doubt it was tiki. My daughter hates me and keeps saying it is my fault. Yes, I know but I am dieing.

I miss him and his annoying habits. His kisses, preaning, him saying "good boy". He just started playing hide and seek with him laughing so hard. I miss him squauking at me.

Thanks for being there everyone, I needed to let it out.

A friend is trying to get me to take a bird from his friend. All I know he is a plucker completly and a green head What kind of bird is it? I hope to find out tommorrow but I am not really mentally stable right now but I am worried about this mystery bird.

OH NO! I'm so sorry, hopefully someone will find him and give him back! And if he can't get back to you, then maybe have a good home somewhere. Let us know what the mystery green bird (sounds familiar, ) turns out to be.

don't beat yourself up - besides the fact that there's nothing to be gained from it, it also isn't fair towards yourself... keeping flighted birds always comes with the risk of them flying off. we can do our best, and often it works, but there's this one, tiny moment that we don't pay attention.... it happens, you're not the first, you won't be the last.
don't give up - seriously.... keep looking. BF is back in LA - we already talked to friends, he'll also spread it in his team and at work... keep looking!
oh, and keep us posted about that green bird..... :)

Thnaks all. I am just dieing. The weather here has been awful for 7 days. Today was another hail storm. I was just crying inside watching the hail fell. I keep hoping. My Free ad is over and now I need to figure out getting a paid ad in lost.

Heard nothing on the other bird yet.

Sorry this has happened and that you are feeling low. Tiki might be returned to you and if not then hope he/she has found a happy home maybe somewherer else. Try and cheer up a bit - life's too short and you have done what you can to find Tiki.

Sweet FX, I am very sorry to hear your little one is missing. That helplessness feeling, the emptiness, guilt are horrible.

Make sure to post about him on:

craigslist (in the Lost and Found section)

911 Parrot Alert 911 : This is a mailing list for all mad 911 fans!!!! If you want to get writing to 911 fans all over the world, this is the list for
ParrotAlert/ (a lot of people read it)

Keeping my fingers crossed that he finds his way home.

I am so sorry to here you lost Tiki. You can't beat yourself up. We had an awful time making the decision to clip our baby's wings (I still feel guilty) but loosing flying birds is very common and always heartbreaking. I know if ours ever got out the adventurous spirit would take him far away. I hope you find him again, there is always hope. My husband also has RSD in his left foot, so I sympathize with you there as well.

No work how my Tiki :( or what the bird is of my friends friend.

But we are bird-sitting for our friend again. She is a re bellied parrot. Very nice and lovey. She makes really cool sounds.

It is nice having a bird in the house , even if only for a few days.

Sorry to hear there's no news...maybe someone really nice has picked tiki up and is giving him a good home. Keep us posted on any updates, including if you finally take the plunge to love another.
