New GCC
Hello Everyone,
Well my husband went out today to purchase food for our macaws, I'm not sure what I was thinking letting him go alone! I knew it was a mistake. So he comes home acting completely nonchalant, unloads the bags of macaw chow and a couple new toys. As he's walking into the kitchen a little head pokes itself out of his shirt collar. He ended up being unable to resist the charms of a handfed little green cheek male. This is our first small bird actually and I'm a little out of my depth! he's only just been weaned and is an absolute baby. I'm wondering how to get him to stay put on us if he's out and about instead of trying to fly away. I know that a lot of it will come from him getting use to us but is there any tricks that you can share with me? ~Beth Phoebe: Solomon island eclectus female. Rafael: Vos eclectus male. Omelette: Miligold Macaw. Quiche: Greenwing macaw. Millicent: Congo African grey. Meringue: Blue and gold macaw. Unnamed: Green cheek conure male. |

Food! lol, I used sunflower kernals to tame my green cheek. Also handling your other birds infront of her (after quarantine). They're like monkey see monkey do. My little girl is so sweet (I got her p/r at 6 months old and tamed her) and cute!
