Snack for my new 2 month old Sun

Hey all.

I just got my baby Sun Conure yesterday, and I just have a quick question.

Is it ok for my Sun conure to have cheese for a snack? It's really soft and she is still on softer foods.

If not, then I'll just keep feeding her what I have been feeding her.

Thanks

Phoenix.

Cheese is not really good for birds... especially the little fellas. Birds are lactose intolerant and shouldnt really have any dairy at all, especially as a baby. When they are older I have been told that on occasion (meaning once in a "blue moon") it is okay to give a small piece of cheese as a treat. I wouldnt suggest giving cheese to a baby bird. Try baby applesauce, or bake a sweet potato or even mashed up bananas ... she will love you for it!

Thanks for the info.

I was simply curious on if I should not, etc.

My breeder got back to me and she told me the part I was missing.

I needed to heat the water up to 100-105 and then she would eat.

As soon as I did that, she started eating like a horse. She finished a good 5 tsps full of the pellet/warm water mixture I made. She is now sleeping off the full stomach and she is happy now.

Thanks for the advice.

Phoenix.
