Question Cuddling

Hello,

I am new to this group. I have a GCC who is almost 2. We adopted him about 9 months ago. I was on a web site that talked about how not to play with your conure and it sounds like I am doing something wrong, but when we first got Connor I read a whole book on Conures and it didn't say anything about it. When we get home at night after work and after we d stuff aroung the house we let Connor hang out with us on the couch and he cuddles with us and plays on our laps or sits on our chests and watches TV with us. This site I read said that this could be confusing for him and my husband and I are behaving like mates and not flock members and this can lead to him having problems. On the other side this book I read talked about how some Conures like to cuddle. Your thoughts...

I'm no bird expert like others on this site. But surely most pets like to receive affection and cuddling is a pretty nice way to get it. My little gcc loves his cuddles - he is only young and i notice that his behaviour is improving all the time. He was a bit nippy before.

Cuddling

In my humble opinion, cuddling is something that only improves the bond you have with your little one.

Everynight since I got my little Phoenix, we have a good hour of cuddle time and she loves it!

Last night I got home from work (the longest we had been apart since I got her last week...) She started to call to me. After I got her dinner ready (still needing a bit of weaning) she came out and we spent a good 30 minutes or so cuddling.

I don't think it will confuse your conure. If your conure loves to cuddle, let it happen, as he will only grow closer to you.

Phoenix.
