Question Can someone help me reading my bird's body language

I have a GCC. Whenever I take a shower I always take her in the bathroom. However, she insists on coming in the shower which I allow. I put her on a bar on the other end of the shower - opposite from where the water comes from. But, she flies over to me. She likes drinking the water. Then she tries to get on my shoulder. She does and gets SOAKED. Once she gets soaked she looks super pathetic and does not move. So, I put her back where she was before - on the opposite end of the shower. However, she will only stay there for about a minute until she wants to be with me again and tries to get under the water.

She does this every day. I am assuming if she didn't like it she wouldn't do it. She just doesn't SEEM to like it by the way she acts afterwards. Do you think she likes this? Could you help me?

I think what you are talking about is the Shower Trance. I have heard of other birds that do it. My Hahn's Macaw does it. I think it's just a blissed-out reaction they have to being bathed.

I don't see any danger in letting her shower with you, but it's probably best to take her back to her cage once she is soaked since it is probably uncomfortable for them.

lol. Shower trance! I haven't heard of that before. I mean, I know she loves water because when I get a glass of water she wants to bathe in it. It's just funny because she acts as if she wants to do it SO BAD and then once she gets wet she just stands completely still. She will eventually come out of it and then desperately try to get back into the water.

Sounds like your bird loves the shower. It seems that they will either go into this "shower trance" where they keep their eyes closed and seem to go off to sleep, or they are bouncing around in and out of the water.

Lol, "shower trance". That's a good one. Yes, that's what it is. I used to take my gcc into the shower every morning and put her on a perch I positioned to catch the spray that shot out the side of the showerhead. Kiwi'd just STAND there getting soaked. She thought it was awesome. Anyways yes your bird enjoys getting drenched and looking pathetic. I swear. ;)
