Is 3 a crowd?

So I my two friends, Jenday and cockatiel, were wondering if they could add a new family member. A Nanday. They just didnt want one addition to be one to many.

If I were to buy another bird, would this be to much for the two I already have.

The volume emitted by two Jendays would be triple that of one. More often too.

The cockatiel won't pose a problem, as long as you keep 'em separate.

I have two conures (GCC, CGCC) and two parrotlets and things have worked out so far, but if I have one conure in one room and the other in the other room, they will call back and forth - LOUDLY - and green cheeks and cinnamons tend to be the quieter conure species...

This same thing happens with my conure and cockatiel.

You never know until you try!

I have two conures, 5 cockatiels, 5 budgies, 1 bourke, and temporarily caring for a starling. Generally speaking, me adding any more birds really didn't upset the current birds much... either the new birds were ignored, the first birds were curious, or the first birds were excited to have new friends! Except for the second conure.... no one likes him! My friendliest cockatiel who likes to make friends with everyone if she can doesn't even like Charlie! She was so upset about having Charlie around that she refused to come to me even for scritches! I got the hint... I moved him out of the bird room! The two conures don't even get along so they don't even call back and forth to eachother....

However, in your situation, either your current birds would ignore the new one or be curious about him.

just make sure you have the time, energy nd money to look after 3, and if you can do it and could do it for the next 20 or so years, then go for it!

I have 2 cgc's & a TAG. So far no problems. I'm always looking to add to my little flock. I want to get a senegal, red lory & an eclectus eventually. As long as you have time for them all - they can all be happy. I do have to keep the TAG away from the conures but he (and one of the conures) was a rescue & is much older & never been around other birds. I have them all clipped. The conures pretty much live on me & so I got a big hard plastic pool with high sides & put the TAG in it w/a ton of toys so he's not stuck in his cage all the time (he doesn't much care for being held)

I have 2 suns and 2 cockatiels. A couple months ago I had 2 nandays as well.

They all got along pretty well. The conures were a bit annoyed by the tiels at times. But still, I could put all 6 on the same perch without too much trouble.

The conures would get loud with eachother. The cockatiels just whistled amongst themselves for the most part.

If you're looking for more birdy excitement, then go for it! A nanday would fit in that flock. As far as I'm concerned.. Nandays, Suns, and Jendays are the exact same type of bird.

I have ...well, a lot of conures. lol They all get along just fine, but I let them mingle according to beak size. My GCC's get playtime together, and all my suns and jenday (except Bonn, who hates all other birds) get along together for playtime. It will get a bit louder, but if you already have one conure, another is just double the noise.
