Sun Conure owned? Strange markings appeared?

Ok. Here's the scoop. just over the past 3 days, my little sun, who will be a year old in a couple of weeks... has started to get a dark spot.....right on the top of her head! It is brownish is colour and looks like she is wearning a beanie or something!

At first I thought she might have gotten into something but it doesn't come off. Anyone else seen this before?

I agree that pics would help. Is it possible that a blood feather broke and bled on the feathers?

Well, the pictures may show you something but it doesn't really show it well. And the little monkey is so afraid of the camera... she won't let me take any more! Maybe these will help....... lol. It's the darker oval on the very apex of her head....

wow thats not normal. her feathers wouldn't just turn that colour for no reason. she must have gotten into something and it's stained her.

If it doesnt come off with water and there is no dried blood on her scalp, I would take her to the vet. I would be concerned about an infection - fungus, etc. - although it would seem she would have symptoms.

Make sure it's not food or something she got into or you might look foolish - like I did recently! I took my caique in for a white thing I saw in his throat. It turned out to be a feather that had gotten in his mouth. Cost me $100!
