Question Patagonian conure... anyone have one?

Hi all! I recently (for the first time) heard of a "patagonian conure". I googled it, and my heavens! what a striking bird!

I read about them and everything I read is very positive about them... I was just wondering if anyone here has one & if I could get you to possibly share some pics? (I've put a pic from the google pics below for those that are curious) Thanks.

Question Trying again...

Hi. No one responded to this post at the time I posted it, so I figured I'd comment to bring it back to the top of the list to see if I could possibly find someone who'd missed it.

Thanks all.

Mabird yes they are beautifull birds but they are also known to be carriers of psita something disease . There is a high rate among them . even so though I would love to get one . I had a chance to get one but it fell through . Yes beautifull birds . I dont want to offend anybody just letting ppl know that might not know that a high percentage of them carry that disease . anyways glad you asked the ?.

Hmmm... concerning the PDV:

"Examples of species commonly seen as carriers and seem to have a resistance to the virus include Mitred, Nanday, and Patagonian Conures; however, any bird that recovers from Pacheco's Disease can become a carrier."

I don't think that should really be used against them. And there are far more Nanday's around than Patagonians!

the gabriel foundation has a few of them, and they are stunning - not the most quiet bird, but gorgeous. i also know somebody who has one as a pet, and she's loving it.

Conure and quiet should never be used in the same sentence. It is like using sweet and hormonal teenager together... it is a sign that something is VERY wrong! LOL

There's a pair up for adoption through Phoenix Landing and they are stunning birds. I was surprised by how BIG they are - they were bigger than the mini macaw I saw at the same event. And as Bee implied, they are quite LOUD. =)
