My sun conure, and his non stop squeaking nosies.
Well, my sun conure will not stop making little squeaking nosies. I don't really mind it, i just don't know why he is doing it. He is almost 9 weeks old and I just got him. I know he is not hungry because he eats all the time and his crop is always noticeably full. I let him eat grapes, seed, a little bit of formula, and peanuts and he loves it all. Is squeaking about every 3 seconds normal for these birds? I just want to make sure he is okay...

it's a baby thing! my bird still squeaks occasionally, i love it. i snuggle with him on the couch and he'll squeak at me and make all sorts of funny noises. when i gently hold his beak on either side, he bobs up and down really fast, thinking i'm feeding him <3

Depending on the way he's squeaking, he might be begging - he is very young and baby suns are voracious eaters. Or, he might just be vocalising in a baby fashion. My Jenday Xaf still squeaks and he's nearly a year. It's usually when he's sleepy, because otherwise his voice peels the paint in the house lol.

Squeaking noises
Yes, my 10 week old Sun does this as well. It's just a baby noise, and she will do it no matter what mood she is in. But I really get her going when I scratch under her wings and her chest.
And if she starts preening my back hair, she starts a happy grumble. It is so adorable! Phoenix |
