Question Odd sleeping position

I've noticed recently my GCC's odd sleeping position. In the past couple of weeks I've covered the cage a few times when Shadow's been sleeping. I have the Prevue snuggle hut. GCC goes to the back of the hut and leans against the bars of the cage with h/her feet grabbing onto the bars and also grabbing onto the bars with beak or side of face against the bars, so the whole body is against the cage. So the only thing in the hut is the bottom half of the tail. Also, there is a small space between the hut and the bars where Shadow sleeps.

Is this normal, or should I get one of the other types of sleeping tents that are better suited for GCC's that aren't dangerous?

I've heard of that before. Lots of conures hold on to the bars while they sleep. Their little feet can "lock" into position naturally. Not all use corner buddies or sleeping tents. I think it's normal, but try whatever you think your baby might feel comfortable in. Maybe the problem is that because Shadow is falling asleep while the cover is off that he is trying to stay alert so he does not miss any "action" going on, and then falls asleep in cling mode? Wawa did that once. Sorry I can't be more help.

Shadow sleeps facing the wall so can't see anything. Also, the cage is in the bedroom on the bureau.

Our macaw Tigo does that lol, or he'll hang onto one of his big toys and zonk out. Looks uncomfy as can be, but clearly it's not, or he wouldn't do it. Several of our GCC's also nap clinging to bars. One of them will lay on his back and splay his legs so he looks like a smushed bird, and another does the same but on his tummy! Silly creatures.

Before the new cage, Rusty would ALWAYS perch like that at night. I always thought he was unable to sleep, but that's how he did it.

With the new cage, he snuggles next to a coconut string toy; similarly how Scooter does.

I wouldn't worry about it, beetle used to sleep against the wire before I got her (you could tell from her tail, was all broken) and when she was in our avairy she would sleep clinging to the wire during the day. She now sleeps on her perch in her cage either the highest one or on one near her happy hut so she can lean against it to snuggle it.

Zoe sleeps like that too. Then Zeus goes outside the hut and leans against the side while holding the bars. They get good sleep so it must be comfortable for them.

I am SO glad I found this! I recently purchased a "bonded" pair of babies. One is a Sun (Tequila), the other is a Green-cheek (we are still playing with names... my suggestions were all unrepeatable in public).

They do the same thing! I was feeling HORRID. They would sleep in the bottom of the small cage I had them in for the first 3 days (18Lx18Wx24D). I knew THAT was normal. I finally dug out the "cage from hades" (48Lx24Wx60D + playpen on top!), cleaned it up (dusty!), and set it up. Gave them samples of every kind of perch imaginable (conures do NOT like manzanita branches... they are slippery!). I gave them a sleepy-tent. They clung to the top front corner on the left (I too thought they wanted to be closer to where I was). I but in a nice rope perch there. They slept in a huddle in the top REAR corner on the left. I put in a shelf with a nice towel there. They now sleep in the rear corner on the RIGHT! LOL

I am so glad that I can stop worrying about it!

Oh... BTW, I do cover the cage at night as well.
And they are both about 14 weeks old... but were handraised together and adore each other.
